Bought Press, Colored Glasses

Covert action never happens at home,
And no one is out to deceive.
Whatever you're told by a government body
Is exactly what you should believe.

While pitching that hokum they're wringing their hands
Over news business "fueled by greed"
That makes the press watchdogs "over-aggressive"
Toward those who've been chosen to lead.

If you are at all independent of mind
Perhaps you will see through their smoke.
The simpler among us will swallow it whole,
But the more perspicacious will choke.
