Fostering Revulsion
by DCDave

Did anyone think we would ever see
Such blatant and bold White House treachery?
"See his writings," they said,
"He'd prefer to be dead."
As they paraded before us their forgery.

Then taking their cue without missing a beat,
The press put their touches upon the deceit
And pretended to see
A real casualty
Of the Wall Street Journal's political heat.

It looks like a trademark Man-from-Hope trick,
By a quarter too clumsy and a half too slick.
But the whole ugly mess
Achieved some success:
It succeeded in making us thoroughly sick.
