Shrinking Truth

We prove mere oil fires couldn't do it,
But still they tell us, "
Nothing to it."
We must have an urge to feed
                                                                             Some deep unsated human need.
For that we have to complicate
The simple story of the state.

But this member of the rabble
Has had it with their psychobabble.
I, for one, am not beguiled
By talk about my inner child.
Please correct me if I'm wrong,
But justice is the need that's strong.

                                                                             David Martin
