A Patient's Lament
When they called it "spinal tap"
It made us think of draining sap,
So the doctors at this juncture
Choose to call it "lumbar puncture."
Alas, I fear this new expression
Also leaves a bad impression:
Before they can begin to cure you
They have to lay you down and skewer you.
I'm sorry if I sound so gloomy,
But I hate it when they stick it to me.
