Lookin’ for Truth in All
the Wrong Places
To the tune of “Lookin’ for Love in All the
Wrong Places”
You followed the
mainstream and used up your youth,
Taking it for
granted that they’d tell you the truth,
Playing a fool’s
game, hoping to win,
Fallin’ for smooth lies
and losing again.
You’ve been lookin’ for truth in all the wrong
places.
Turn on the TV and
you’ll see their faces,
Googling the Net.
Lookin’ for traces of
what you’re yearning for,
Hoping to find a
trustworthy source.
It won’t come as a
matter of course.
They ain’t paid to tell you the truth.
You feel betrayed
with no truth in sight,
When the black
that you see they all tell you is white.
You don’t know
when it started or when it might end,
But you know for
sure that high tech ain’t your friend.
You’ve been lookin’ for truth in all the wrong places.
Turn on the TV and
you’ll see their faces,
Googling the Net.
Looking for traces
of what you’re yearning for,
Hoping to find a
trustworthy source.
It won’t come as a
matter of course.
They ain’t paid to tell you the truth.
Then one day you
got out of your rut.
You used common
sense, and you trusted your gut.
No more lookin’ for truth in all the wrong places.
Ditchin’ the TV so you
won’t see their faces,
Free surfin’ the Net.
Finding the traces
of what you’re yearning for,
Finding an
occasional trustworthy source.
But it didn’t come
as a matter of course.
Nobody’s paid to
tell you the truth.
No more lookin’ for truth in all the wrong places.
Ditchin’ the TV so you
won’t see their faces,
Free surfin’ the Net.
Finding the traces
of what you’re yearning for,
Finding an
occasional trustworthy source.
But it didn’t come
as a matter of course.
Nobody’s paid to
tell you the truth.
