Ethnic Cleansing

To the tune of “The Christmas Song

Children slaughtered by the bombs they drop,

                             Others killed by sniper fire,

Carnage it seemed might not ever stop,

Gaza made into a funeral pyre.

A savage response to a murky affront,

The whole world sees as overkill,

Not so much revenge, but a devious stunt?

We might think not, but others will.

Now Donald Trump is here on the scene.

What might his choice of Israel-lackeys mean?

Things were really bad for the natives there before.

Of war crimes could he really portend more?

Of late, he's been talking euphemistically,

But they have seen the likes before.

                             He might characterize it differently,

                             The ethnic cleansing of yore.

Of late, he's been talking euphemistically,

But they have seen the likes before.

                             He might characterize it differently,

                             The ethnic cleansing of yore.
