These days the loyal opposition
Has become excessively loyal.
The man in the top executive position
Is treated as though he were royal.

Battles against his regal abuses
Are no more than tepidly fought.
Corruption chases come down to excuses
For why the worst can't be caught.

Even a major electoral win
Is nothing the public can savor.
The victor absolves the defeated of sin
Which requires a return of the favor.
