The Tuskeegee syphilis study,
A grand conspiracy,
Inducing human suffering
To see what we could see.

We need not look abroad
Nor wildly theorize
To seek out massive evil
Covered up with lies.

No one seemed to know,
At least, no one who'd tell,
Our "public health" officials
Kept the secret well.

We made the guilty pay
When it was Germany.
Here we "bind up wounds"
With an apology.
